Duck! Hawaiian Duck, that is...Meet Duke the Duck. Hawaii's Finest

Only in Hawaii would you find a duck wearing a lei.  Yep, pretty special. And APPARENTLY Duke the duck was almost malled by a mongoose, not to mention thwarting an attempted kidnapping by a local vagrant.  Duke's had a storied life thus far and is officially ONE LUCKY DUCK.  (of course he is...he lives in Hawaii)

Flower Power

 Hawaian style.

A LOVELY Day in Waikiki

Surf's UP!  Blue Hawaian... Sea turtles were spotted 20 feet off the coast.  An ADDED bonus.

Breaking News: Oahu has Ninjas Too. See Below for More Details.

Anyone think I need this sign???  I MAY have to purchase.

Aloha! From Hawaii With Love

Captain's Log. Day 3 At Sea. 07 hundred hours. The Asian Ping Pong Table Occupation Continues.

Captain's Log. Day 3 At Sea. 07 hundred hours. The Asian Ping Pong Table Occupation Continues.

A successful voyage across the Pacific thus far. New friends abound, young and old. Not even to Australia yet and accomplished part of the mission...to determine what a Dingo is (a wild dog) and figure out the best places to dive the great barrier reef (Cairns). Still working on determining the nature and consistency of Vegemite, but plenty of time for that.

Also, NEWSFLASH: apparently one has a better chance of getting attacked by a kangaroo in OZ than a shark. We'll see about that...

In other news, it has yet to be determined whether the two Asian couples will end their occupation of the ping pong tables in the foreseeable future. Only time will tell, but passengers and crew are waiting in anticipation for the latest developments in this breaking story. It has been rumored that a certain faction of passengers may or may not stage a protest if the Asian occupation continues on into day 4 (by Occupying the hot tub, perhaps?). In the meantime, we will continue our coverage as this dramatic story continues to unfold.

Over and out for now. More updates to follow.

Captain's Log: Day 1 at Sea. Great White Sharks are Partial to AC/DC

Captain's Log: Day 1 at sea, 0400 hours. Mission accomplished. I've met people my own age! Victory is mine! Virtual high five's all around. After last night's dinner it was looking highly uncertain whether I'd eventually meet anyone under the age of 60. However, things are now looking up! Became acquainted with two very nice couples, one from England, one from Canada this afternoon. Both of which are under the age of 40. Score! Dinner reservations together tonight at the steakhouse onboard the ship (lol as opposed to dinner with the fishes in the open ocean, which may or may not be saved for another evening...). What we've learned thus far is that Canadians and English are much friendlier than New Yorkers. Alert the press folks, this is breaking news! In other news, we have learned that apparently, in Australia, eco-friendly shark cage excursions do NOT use bait, blood, chum or anything of the sort to attract Jaws to your cage. You know what they DO use? Music. And not just ANY music. AC/DC. Yep, that's right. Apparently great white sharks are attracted to AC/DC when played underwater. Which I find funny. So, if you don't know...now you know. Over and out for now. More updates to follow.

Bon Voyage. Cruising to the land down under...it's ONE way to get there...Australia or Bust!

Step one. Escape from Alcatraz. Step two. Flee the country. To Australia?  Why not?  Apparently they like US citizens.  And for real too, not just on Facebook.
As I prepare to embark from San Fran on epic journey to Australia, some final parting thoughts come to mind...Such as: was it a mistake to book a 27 night cruise to the land down under?  I mean, after my first buffet experience on the ship is it possible NOT to gain 20 pounds with all this food?  Only time will tell. Another concern...yours truly MAY in fact be the youngest passenger on this ship by at least 20 years. Hmmmm. Whelp nothing wrong with hanging those of the older generation persuasion. Not sure they will get me...but then again...there are quite a few gen X'ers who don't get me either. So who cares?  Ready or not, we're OFF to a life at sea for the foreseeable future. I just hope the south pacific is ready for our arrival. Australia or bust!
